A great performance from Mikael Persbrandt as Dag Hammarskjold (the secretary general of the U.N.) and incredible production values make this drama, set in 1961 a fascinating and rewarding watch. World conflict and internal conflicts combine to bring Dag's life to an unexpected end. "Compelling."

A brilliant, funny and poignant film that subtly pillories western 'values'. A lama sends a monk to buy a gun to 'set things right' as change occurs in the country. A US gun collector tries to get it back when it's given to the monk for good karma. Gorgeous to look at and outstanding.

US jazz collides with Cold War colonial crimes in this electrifying film examining the CIA’s complicity in state-sanctioned murder – and its use of popular music to cover its tracks. The coolest film in the festival with blue note graphics also telling the tale. "Mind blowing." Harper's Bazaar.

Not just a film about the famous Iceberg pool at Bondi and its hardy members, this is a film about love of water, swimming, ocean swimming and the social benefits of being in a club like the Icebergs. It's an celebration of life with iconic cinematography. " Captures the subject beautifully."

Calling all film and cat lovers! Drop your pretensions and watch in sheer delight as a cat and a group of other characters whose home is flooded; a Labrador, a stork, a lemur and a pretty sleepy capybara all end up on a boat having to survive until the water subsides. " A marvel."

Aquarius is a film about the Festival in 1973 that transformed Nimbin forever and the power of change, that reaches down through generations today. It was consequential and the film features archive footage, interviews with organisers, participants and some bewildered locals. Cool soundtrack.
