About the Event

Stop Making Sense 4K Restoration film trailer HERE

Newly restored in 4K to coincide with its 40th anniversary, the 1984 film was directed by Academy Award winner Jonathan Demme and is considered by many critics as the greatest concert films of all time. Not the least of which is Spike Lee.

The live performance was shot over the course of three nights in Hollywood's Pantages Theatre in December 1983 and features Talking Heads' most memorable songs. One night's filming was long shots only which gives this film a sense of space many other concert films lack.

Talking Heads were ahead of the curve both musically and visually and this film exemplifies their statrus as one of the greatest of all American bands.

STOP MAKING SENSE stars core band members David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison , who miraculously came together agin to promote this release along with Bernie Worrell, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Lynn Mabry and Edna Holt.

The live performance was shot over the course of three nights in Hollywood's Pantages Theatre in December 1983 and features Talking Heads' most memorable songs.

"Jonathan Demme's Stop Making Sense captures the energetic, unpredictable live act of peak Talking Heads with colour and visual wit." Rotten Tomatoes

"Brilliantly conceived, shot, edited and performed" and "one of the greatest rock movies ever made." Leonard Maltin

"Close to perfection". Pauline Kael. The New Yorker
